Target Audience: Children 8-12 years old

Tool used: Procreate
The Last Letter will be a 3rd person RPG-adventure game set in a 3D representation of the Dutch forests, wherein the animals emulate human society. For example, beavers are construction workers, moles are miners, etc. The goal of the game is to deliver letters to the animals living in the forest. While delivering letters, the player will communicate and learn about the animals, and get in touch with nature.

The design goal of the game is to teach the target audience about the nature and wildlife living in the Dutch forest, while also encouraging them to go out into these forests themselves. This is achieved by establishing a human relationship between the player and the animals, which minimises the distance between the two. The game also has a collection mechanic, encouraging the players to keep playing and learn as much about animals as possible.

I was in charge of the concept art, designing and UI, implementation of sound as well as writing the story and dialogue.

Story

The game begins with a new wolf who came to the forest to work as a "postanimal". He wants to do a good job and bond with the other animals. While looking through the letters he discovers that one of the letters doesn’t have an address, so he has to talk with the other animals that live in the forest in order to find out who the recipient of the letter is.
The wolf comes from an only wolf forest/area. It is the first time he has to interact with other types of animals, so he has to adapt while interacting with them, while also learning about them and try to become their friend in order to convince the animals of the forest to help him on his quest.

This game can be played anywhere and it is very accessible to the audience.
It can serve as an escapism tool thanks to its colourful world and friendly characters and it can also be considered an imagination starter since the setting of the story is purely fictional.
